Far too many salespeople waste their precious time on people who will never buy from them. You don't do this because you aren't smart enough to get the right people contacting you. You don't do this because you have nothing better to do. You do this because you're desperate to sell, and you don't know how to create a sales funnel full of ready buyers.

You think you don't have time to figure out how to get the right people coming to you, so you try to do everything but what you need to do to make it happen for you. Using those post cards and letters you can buy from the insurance company is a waste of both time and money. The first step is to get the attention of the right people. Once you have their attention you must gain their interest or curiosity. Build that interest into motivation so they have to act. Give them a way to act.

Once they've taken an action they've filtered themselves as the right people. The next step is to take them through the stages required to develop a relationship with a complete stranger. The final step in the sales funnel process is transforming these once strangers into buyers.
