Do you think that you are paying too much for insurance? The chances are good that you are right. But how to save your car insurance more money? The best way is to call, and ask to negotiate, as you are:

  • Will you give me a discount if I have taken a driver's training course?
  • Do you offer multiple car insurance discounts?
  • Are there deals available if I also use you for home insurance and life insurance?
  • Are there discounts available if I have not had an accident in the past 5 years?
  • What about if I have not had a ticket in the past 5 year?
  • What if I am a student and have good grades?
  • Are there any offers for people who run a carpool?
  • Can I get a discount for certain safety features such as air bags, anti-lock breaks, and other safety features?
  • Are there special offers if a family member uses your car insurance company?
  • I am a loyal customer; do I qualify for any price reductions?
  • Are there discounts for paying online?
  • Can I decrease the amount of coverage on my car?
  • Do I receive any extra benefits if my credit score is excellent?
  • Can I receive a discount for my weekend car?

Just keep in mind that you are trying to reduce that final monthly, bi-yearly, or yearly payment. In many cases it may be worth it to get the quote first and then haggle them down by asking these questions to let them know that you are worth doing business with. Although it may seem rather daunting to go through all these questions with multiple insurance agencies, this is the only real way to get a good deal. The smartest thing you can do is get quotes from multiple companies and use that offer as a bargaining chip. But remember to ask these questions with each insurance company that you are planning on receiving an offer from as they will drastically reduce the quote that they will give you.
