18 Feb - Sydney, Australia (National): Apia has recently been advised by one of its Melbourne customers that they received a telephone call from a man claiming to be from Apia, who insisted on arranging a time to install roof insulation at their home.
This man does NOT work for Apia and is not known to us.
Apia is not an installer of roof insulation and is in no way associated with the current Federal Government's insulation subsidy scheme.
We understand that this man was very insistent and aggressive in his approach of our customer, and strongly requested that they commit to an installation time.
We wish to alert all Apia customers to this event and confirm that Apia employees or our service providers would only ever request to attend their home as part of the assessment or settlement of their Apia insurance claim.
Anyone representing Apia will always be able to demonstrate that they work for us. If you have any doubt at all, you should call us on 13 50 50 for immediate confirmation.
